Dyson Contracting offers a comprehensive waterproofing system designed to safeguard your home from moisture and leaks.
For shower installations, effective waterproofing is crucial. Tiles—whether ceramic, porcelain, or natural stone—are not inherently waterproof. Without proper waterproofing behind them, moisture can infiltrate, leading to rotting studs, damaged subfloors, and mold growth, which can cause significant damage.
We use waterproof backerboard behind all tiles to create a fully impermeable substrate, never installing tiles over drywall in wet areas. Fasteners are sealed, and joints and corners are treated with waterproofing strips, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
For custom shower pans, we conduct a flood test by plugging the drain, filling the pan with water, and letting it sit overnight to ensure no leaks.
When installing floor tiles, we apply a decoupling membrane and waterproof the joints to prevent cracks and moisture infiltration. Tiling only begins once waterproofing is fully completed.
